Who are the Moggies?
In the first book of the series, we introduce you to the Moggies - Bosun, Bonnie, Morag, Dusty and Ted.
We learn a little more about them and the beautiful areas around the Mull of Galloway in which they live.
The Mull of Galloway
These stories are set in a real area, in and around the villages, countryside and beaches of the Rhins of Galloway in Scotland, in particular the South Rhins. From the southernmost tip, it is said you can see five kingdoms - Ireland, The Isle of Man, England, Scotland and Heaven.
The Mull of Galloway is a 30-acre site of special scientific interest, owned by the community and operated by the Mull of Galloway Trust Board of Trustees. It has within it a working lighthouse, built by Robert Stevenson, and the only working lighthouse foghorn on mainland Scotland.

Written by Nick Chandley
Nick Chandley was a teacher but now wanders far and wide, helping schools put more thinking into, and beyond, the curriculum. In all his books, the reader will find some opportunity to leave the story behind and make the leap into life, thinking about the lives we lead. He now lives by the sea in Scotland, with a strange collection of animals and a boat.
Illustrated by Jane Fraser
Jane Fraser is an artist working in a variety of different media. She has illustrated books, drawn many faces, painted lots of pictures and has work displayed in houses around the world. Like Bonnie, one of the Moggies, Jane lives in South West Scotland, right on top of a hill, where it is very windy. She is at her happiest in her workshop, making wooden bowls on a lathe and decorating them with pyrography.
